Pine Bros Softish Throat Drops

Remember being a kid and loving those cherry flavored cough drops that kind of tasted like candy and I know at least my mom, always said, "They are more like candy then cough drops! They don't work!!" She is right, and I haven't bought them since for my own kids. But when I was in school and somebody had a box of them, they were a tasty excuse to have something to eat while you were sitting there, waiting for the end of the day.
I always do have cough drops in the medicine cabinet, we use them, a lot of people do. I think it's pretty neat that something as simple as cough drops, or throat drops, have such an interesting story behind them.
Mr. Pine, a German confectionary maker, determined that by combining the soothing natural qualities of glycerin with the healing properties of gum acacia, he could sooth and mitigate the mild discomfort of a sore throat. Add in some natural flavoring and a sweetener and voila, Pine Brothers Softish Throat Drops were born. "I have discovered something," Pine wrote, "which will give quick throat relief to thousands afflicted as I was." He added,"Perhaps I won't make much money out of this. But I can make people happy, and that's more important than money." Mr. Pine was being unduly modest, as his "discovery" would become one of the most successful, most delicious and most unique throat lozenges in the world. Nor has the recipe changed appreciably since it was first introduced to the public over 140 years ago.
**Quotes taken from Pine Bros **
The Life Saver company actually purchased Pine Bros back in  1930, and flourished. From there, it was resold, and resold some more, and just like everything else, the original recipe got cut, packaging changed, until it really isn't what it started out to be.
Luckily, the creator and former owner of, Airborne, Victoria Knight-McDowell, for her new company 3 Sisters Home Products™. Much time and effort has been spent locating the original recipe and putting these softish throat drops back in classic packaging.
You can purchase these at CVS, (1 of my favorite stores!)

We were sent a few bags of each flavor, honey and cherry. Both passed the all the tests that the little ones, and me, use in order to make our final decision of whether we love it or not;) Indeed these are absolutely tasty and definitely something the kiddos have no problem with using when they have a cough, a sore throat or are stuffed up. That is of course the biggest obstacle! Pine Bros Softish Throat Drops also pass the mom test! They really work and help! They do provide relief for sore throats, and the price is right, and I can easily find these at CVS!
This is a product that will indeed be in our medicine cabinet and in backpacks.
Compared to 2 other big brands that we do use and always have, Pine Bros is the 1st choice for the kids. That being said, they are now my first choice. Anything that will help the kids feel better, and won't cause a battle of any kind, is perfect in my eyes!
You can find Pine Bros on Facebook
and you can find them on Twitter!
If you head on over to their Facebook page, click on the Sweepstakes tab and enter to win a gift card for CVS, valued at $500!!!!
That could take care of your shopping for several months if you are a big coupon and Extrabucks fan:)

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
